It works with 9,500 instead of 7,000 MHz on the new graphics card, with the same memory interface (256 bit, GA104 does not offer more), the memory bandwidth is 36 percent higher. In addition to more execution units that clock higher, the immense surcharge also takes into account another innovation: Nvidia no longer installs classic GDDR6 on the GeForce RTX 3070, but GDDR6X memory, which according to all findings requires more energy, but also clocks significantly higher. That is only 30 watts below the TDP of the GeForce RTX 3080. Instead of 220 watts, the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti offers 70 watts more and thus 290 watts. In the TDP corset of the GeForce RTX 3070 this was no longer possible. Nvidia calls the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti a base clock of 1,575 MHz and an average turbo of 1,770 MHz, so that the official clock of the new graphics card is 45 MHz higher – that's another 3 percent more. That's why there is also a bit more in terms of clock rates.
